Andrzej Kuhn
Andrzej Kuhn is a Polish artist who has lived in Lincolnshire for over 40 years. His output during that time has found its way into major collections worldwide and has been the subject of many exhibitions and articles in the UK, USA and Europe. Originally a fisherman, Andrzej Kuhn built his own house and studio on the coast and lives there today.
In addition to meeting the demands of city galleries Mr Kuhn has been a long-standing contributor to local exhibitions and there can be few art-lovers in the county who do not own and cherish a painting or two. His work engages dream, legend and the positive aspects of man’s nature , his desires, hierarchies , workmanship and pastimes. The style is instantly recognisable, flat and colourful , with emphasis on proportions and character which serve to capture the immediate attention of the viewer. However, just beneath the surface of this apparent simplicity Mr Kuhn’s lifetime of experience works magic with juxtaposition and suggestion and gives each piece the enduring quality of fascination. Collectors simply don’t part with Andrzej Kuhn paintings . Andrzej Kuhn's exhibitions are generally supplemented with works in terracotta by Andrzej’s wife, Diana.
